Think with your heart, consume as much as you need. It’s up to us food not to become garbage.
The modern way of life in financially developed countries has led to overproduction and reckless consumption of food. Basically the consumer comes in touch with package and not with the food that he will consume. Occasionally, when food is evident, the way of selection is the appearance. The implementation of the financial transaction to acquire food results in the disappearance of a very important link that the connected human consumer with food. This link is the respect for the “presents” that nature provides to us and indirectly the possibility of existence of the human species. This respect came to our ancestors by coming in touch with all the creativity stages of the products they consumed.
In that case, the animal they bred was not just a piece of meat, but a significant presence. The tomato that they consumed had more value because they were watching it grow from a small seed to a beautiful plant and a delicious fruit. The same happened with all existing edible goods. The ancestor’s contribution in giving birth and developing the food they consumed has led to the inventive use of it. So nothing ended up in the trash whether this was a part of an animal or a plant. In the days of our “civilization” and technology, buying a piece of meat means that we have never come in touch with the animal, for us it is just a piece of meat. Buying good tomatoes from a supermarket makes it easy to let them rot in our refrigerator in case we don’t consume them on time. It’s even easier to leave food we ordered at a restaurant when we feel fed up or we don’t like it.
We do the same thing with a drink at a bar.
It is well known that in case the company has no recycling consideration, they will end up in the trash.
The reason we chose a pig’s heart for our shooting is to sensitize the consumers by reminding them that conscious choice and good quality food consumption is a life matter. If we continue to consume thoughtlessly, more and more animals and plants that we produce will end up in the trash. It would be superfluous to refer to the wasted energy in order to create them. So let’s consume consciously only what we really need…
